ELDRED TOWNSHIP – A 52-year-old Leeper man was killed when he lost control of his Jeep on an icy state Route 36 in Eldred Township, Jefferson County Saturday morning.
State police at DuBois say Robert L. Ramsey was traveling north on SR 36 when he lost control, hitting a utility pole and an embankment.
Ramsey’s vehicle became partially airborne before the rear of the Jeep struck the embankment again. The impact caused the Jeep to roll sideways and become airborne once again.
Ramsey was not earing his seat belt was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at Brookville Hospital.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Pine Creek and Sigel fire departments and Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services.
