The Gant Daily athlete of the week for February 12 through February 18 is former Clearfield state champion swimmer John Lytle.
Competing now for Notre Dame, Lytle made All-Big East in 5 events during the Big East Championships over the weekend.
Lytle set 2 individual Notre Dame school records – the 100 and 200 freestyle events. Lytle was also on three relay teams that set school records – 400 freestyle, 800 freestyle, and 400 medlay.
Earning honorable mention for the week was Mo Valley senior wrestler Ryan Jacoby.
Jacoby won the District 6 AA title in the 135 pound class by knocking off the #1 seed Kyle Dalton of Westmont-Hilltop, 3-1 in overtime.
Jacoby went 4-0 for the weekend to up his season record to an area best 29-0.
