CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County health and human service organizations, school districts and select businesses will soon be invited via letter to designate a representative to the Women’s Health Task Force of Clearfield County as part of an effort to expand membership and reassess the heath needs of women and their families.
“Despite changing roles and workplace strides, women remain the traditional caregivers and managers of their loved ones’ health. They juggle appointments, prescriptions and situations with precision and diligence but often at a price: their own health concerns can be relegated to the bottom of the priority list,” said task force facilitator Andrea Bressler.
What happens when this infrastructure fails and how to ensure it doesn’t are issues the group has been addressing since its formation in 1994 and it is time to reevaluate the state of women’s health in the county, identify current needs and strategies to address them, she noted.
“To accomplish this, we must have new members with fresh insight and enthusiasm,” she added.
The letters will go out in time for the next task force meeting on March 1 at noon at the Clearfield County Multi Service Center in Clearfield. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to attend, she said.
The annual retreat is set for June 15 at Bethany Retreat Center in Frenchville. Among the topics under consideration are food allergies, hair and make up tips, diabetes prevention and support, wine tasting, tai chi and belly dancing, fitness and financial security.
