BLACK MOSHANNON AREA – A man was arrested for the Jan. 26 assault of a 32-year-old Philipsburg woman.
According to Philipsburg-based state police, Richard Mark Turner, 52, held the woman down on her bed against her will. He is accused of choking her and then holding his hand over the woman’s nose and mouth. The woman reported to police that she could not breath or speak and was on the verge of passing out.
Turner then disabled the woman’s phones. He left several hours later.
Turner was found in the Black Moshannon area living in his vehicle. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair and is in Centre County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
