PORT MATILDA – Philipsburg-based state police reported that earlier in December, someone burglarized the Port Matilda Fire Company.
According to the report, the burglary happened between Dec. 11 and Dec. 12. Someone gained entrance into a storage shed located behind the fire hall by cutting off a padlock. Once inside they stole two sets of outer protective gear including a coat, pants and helmet with an estimated value of $1,700 each. Also stolen were two two-and-one-half gallon plastic cans full of gasoline. They then fled undetected.
