Shooter’s Name Released in Morris Township Attempted Homicide Case

MORRIS TOWNSHIP – Earlier in the week, Clearfield-based state police announced that an attempted homicide occurred in Morris Township on Sunday.

Shawn Gillen allegedly fired four or five shots from a Colt .22 caliber handgun at his mother’s ex boyfriend, Harry Ferguson Jr. According to the affidavit, Gillen arrived at Ferguson’s residence and spoke with him about how Ferguson treated his mother. It was reported that at some point Gillen pulled the gun and fired a couple shots before running to a car and leaving.

In an interview with police, Gillen said that he stole the gun from his mother’s house.

Gillen also told police that Ferguson deserved to die for what he did for his mother.

Gillen was arrested and is in Clearfield County Jail.
