CLEARFIELD – The Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library will once again participate in the 2006 annual Jaycee’s Christmas Parade by hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus following the parade. This year the theme Rock ‘n Roll Christmas was selected by the Jaycees, and the library is excited to once again be included in the event.
The parade beings at noon Dec. 2 and the festivities at the library begin immediately following the parade end.
“The Jaycees really put a lot of time and effort into the parade and the Santa event, they really should be commended for their efforts,” stated Paula Marshall, library director.
Refreshments, gift bags, a book fair and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be sponsored by the Jaycees. “The event went so well last year,” stated Marshall. “I anticipate that this year’s parade and Santa visits will be just as great.”
Mark Kercenneck, library maintenance, will be painting the library windows in the theme of the parade, library staff will be decorating the library, and the Clearfield Area Woman’s Club and Friends of the Library are once again preparing the Christmas trees for the holidays. “I am always so pleased with Mark’s window decorating, the library staff’s willingness to make the library look so festive, and the Christmas trees at the library are always so beautifully done,” stated Marshall, “It really adds to the event sponsored by the Jaycee’s.”
For more information, individuals can call or stop by the library or contact the Clearfield Area Jaycees event chair, Paul Bojolad at 765-6561, extension 2211.
