Three products of the Clearfield Area High School swimming and diving program earned points for their college teams in the last week.
Nathan Taylor specializes in the butterfly and individual medley and Ryan Sayers is the No. 2 diver at Washington & Jefferson, while Brandon Good is a freestyle sprinter at Lycoming.
In W & J\’s sweep of Lycoming 57-37 and host Elizabethtown 61-33 on Saturday, Nov. 11, Taylor swam the 200-yard butterfly in 2:14.51 for a first against Elizabethtown and a second against Lycoming. He earned second place against both teams in the 200 IM.
Good turned in a 53.92-second split to help the Lycoming 400 free relay team sweep W &J and Elizabethtown. In addition he placed third against both teams in the 50 free and was third against Elizabethtown and fourth against W & J in the 100 free.
On Tuesday, Lycoming lost at Susquehanna 123-82 to fall to 0-4 for the season, 0-3 in the Middle Atlantic Conference, and Good helped the Warriors\’ 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams to seconds-place finishes.
W & J had its four-game winning streak ended by visiting Westminster 132-94 in their Presidents Athletic Conference opener Wednesday evening. Taylor placed fourth in the 200 fly and fifth in the 200 IM and also was a member of the Presidents\’ \’B\’ 400 medley relay team that finished third, while Sayers earned second-place points in the one-meter and three-meter diving competition.
