CLEARFIELD – Tuesday night’s rain caused at least two accidents on Interstate 80 in Clearfield County, but no one was hurt.
The first happened at about 9:20 p.m. when Lindsey M. Rowles, 19, of Frenchville, lost control while traveling west near mile marker 107 in Union Township. Rowles’ car spun off the south side of the roadway, striking a tree.
Branko Varagic, 34, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, was traveling west about two hours later when his tractor-trailer spun of the south side of the roadway and came to rest on the median.
Rowles’ car sustained severe damage, and Varagic’s truck was moderately damaged. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accidents.
