Dinger\’s Edged by St. Mary\’s in CCBL Action Sunday

ST. MARYS — St. Marys capitalized on a walk and two errors to score four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and nip Dingers 5-4 in a Continential Collegiate Baseball League makeup game at Berwind Park Sunday afternoon.

Dingers grabbed a 4-0 lead with two runs in the third inning on a walk, Dusty Woodring\’s RBI double and Todd Schickling\’s RBI grounder and two in the fourth on a walk, Dustin Minarchick\’s RBI double and Jim Collins\’ RBI single.
Schickling had the hosts shut out until the fifth and then wound up the loser because of the quartet of unearned tallies in the sixth. He allowed only five hits while striking out five and walking four.
Minarchick had two hits for Dingers, which is 9-5 with a postponed game against Coudersport pending. If that game is not played, Manager Ed Yeager\’s team will be idle until the CCBL playoffs starting July 22 at Kersey.
