DUBOIS – A much-loved DuBois tradition begins this weekend in DuBois with Community Days Friday.
The event is in its 15th year, and it began with a simple purpose, according to a letter in this year’s schedule of events. “DuBois Community Days continues to fulfill all of our greatest expectations. Our simple focal point (to celebrate the community itself) hs proven to be a theme that all area residents appreciate and support,” said the festival’s three co-chairs, Jeffrey M. Baronick, John “Herm” Suplizio (also the mayor of DuBois) nd Scott Farrell.
Community Days begins Friday at 5 p.m. at DuBois City Park on Liberty Boulevard.
Plenty of events will be held Friday and Saturday, including the largest firemen’s parade in western Pennsylvania on Saturday. Other big happenings include the dedication of the Edward V. Cherry Amphitheater Friday and fireworks Saturday night.
