HARRISBURG – The Clearfield County Solid Waste Authority will receive more a sizeable grant, according to state Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 of Houtzdale.
The state Deparment of Environmental protection awarded the authority a $94,087 grant to enhance recycling opportunities throughout the county.
“The grant will provide a needed boost to recycling efforts in 19 local unicipalities,” said Rep. George, Democratic chairman of the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee.
The grant will benefit Beccaria, Brady, Bradford, Boggs, Chest, Cooper, Decatur, Ferguson, Girard, Gulich, Huston, Karthaus, Lawrence, Morris, Penn and Woodward townships and Burnside, Clearfield and Curwensville boroughs.
In a separate award, yard-waste composting in Chester Hill Borough will be upgraded through an $89,370 grant from the DEP that will be shared with Philipsburg Borough.
