DUBOIS – The calendar says summer officially begins in June, but don’t tell that to anyone in DuBois!
The friends of the DuBois Chapter of the American Red Cross are hosting the First Bash of Summer through Saturday at DuBois City Park.
“Families can come out and enjoy the event and also help their neighbors,” Mary Jo Yebernetsky, director of the DuBois Chapter.
The carnival, which runs through Saturday, features eight rides, some of which are being used for the first time ever. Those who attend will also find craft vendors, a bake sale and a raffle.
A special feature of the event is a pie-throwing booth featuring some DuBois area celebrities who will brave the booth for charity.
The carnival is open Thursday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.
The First Bash of Summer is sponsored by John Kness State Farm, Uniformity, First Commonwealth Bank, Keystone Chiropractors, the International Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 4454, Wal-Mart and the Stoltz family of dealerships.
