Repair Work Complete on Rails to Trails

CLEARFIELD COUNTY – In recent months, heavy rains have impacted Rails to Trails in Clearfield County.

Water “dammed up” against the side of the trail due to several clogged pipes—both under the trail and roadway, explained Rob Bozovich, president of the Clearfield County Rails to Trails Association.

But, “we had a ground well of local support to get the trail reopened,” and those individuals wish to remain anonymous for their contributions.

All materials and labor were sourced and funded locally, noted Bozovich.

PennDOT also expedited completion of their work to clean drainage, and within two days, new drainage was installed to make the trail usable again.

People may use the trail now but are advised to exercise caution as construction will continue including edge work. Gravel topper will also be placed, which could take some time to settle.

Any additional items of concern can be reported to the association. Its contact information can be found on its official Facebook page.

We offer our deepest gratitude to everyone involved with these repairs, stated Bozovich.
