BROOKVILLE – A free workshop for project leaders from Clearfield and Jefferson counties will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Roseville Independent Church, located at 3598 Route 322, in Brookville.

In response to inquiries, Operation Christmas Child volunteers will provide information on packing quality shoeboxes and a demonstration of how shoeboxes are handled at the processing centers.

Regional Area Volunteer Coordinator Karla Sunderlin will conclude by sharing the impact of shoeboxes delivered at June 2024 outreach events in Nairobi, Kenya.

There will be door prizes and light refreshments, and each registered project leader in attendance will receive a carton of 50 shoeboxes provided by Samaritan’s Purse.

Go to the local events tab at samaritanspurse.org/occ to register for the workshop or to request more information.

Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, collects and delivers shoeboxes—filled new and unused toys, school supplies and personal care items— to children in need around the world.

Together with the local church world-wide, the Good News of Jesus Christ is shared, and the love of God is demonstrated in a tangible way.

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 220 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories.

For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.

In 2024, Operation Christmas Child hopes to collect enough shoebox gifts to reach another 12 million children.
