DUBOIS – With the cancellation of this year’s Community Days event, several organizations and business owners have come together to plan an alternative event—DuBois Days 2024.
This community event is currently scheduled to take place in mid-June. It’s moving forward at a rapid pace with a lot of great ideas coming together, but there have also been some organizational changes.
Downtown DuBois Inc. has been awarded a Main Street America Program grant to facilitate an extensive entrepreneurial ecosystem program that will be extremely time-consuming for the near and foreseeable future.
Due to this, Downtown DuBois Inc. has had to rescind its direct involvement in the DuBois Days 2024 event administration as previously reported.
“It’s unfortunate that we will not be able to take a more active role in the organization of DuBois Days 2024,” expresses Lisa Gabler, president of Downtown DuBois Inc.
“This was an amicable decision and we have offered to help on a more consultative or as-needed basis. The previously-announced Downtown Block Party will need to be postponed, as well.
“We are looking forward to taking on this Main Street program’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem grant this spring, and it will be a great addition to the downtown. More information on this grant award will be coming soon.”
The DuBois Days community event has a strong committee of organizations, business owners and volunteers and they are working fervently to provide the DuBois area with an event that promotes unity within our community.
There are many good things coming so please watch the local press, television and DuBoisLIVE for additional information and announcements as the event details unfold.
Potential sponsors, vendors and additional volunteers should reach out directly to the DuBois Days 2024 organizers via e-mail at info@duboisdays.com.
