Brookville to Celebrate Open Arms Farmacy

BROOKVILLE – Open Arms Farmacy will be welcomed to Brookville’s historic Main Street on Friday, Sept. 1.

Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m., kicking off the grand opening weekend event that’s taking place from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday with samples and giveaways.

According to a Chamber press release, the business started out as a “personal hobby” preserving food from their garden. But, it quickly became an “overnight success” when a popular TikTok influencer gave a shoutout to Rob Black and BJ Hand for their freeze-dried candies.

Freeze-drying is a process that removes moisture by freezing a product to preserve perishable foods and extend their shelf life. This is the same process used by NASA.

Open Arms Farmacy opened a store in Punxsutawney with a giant commercial kitchen. It housed 14 machines operating continuously to keep up with the wholesale demand that comes with supplying to distributors including the Altoona Curve and thecandyspace.com.

Open Arms Farmacy is expanding and opening a store on Main Street in Brookville that will carry its freeze-dried candies, novelty candies and its own line of soda branded specifically for Brookville.

Open Arms Farmacy offers fundraising, concession and wholesale, in addition to the retail store located at 188 Main St., Brookville.

Store hours are Fridays and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Follow the business on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube for new products, specials and more.
