Clearfield Co. Dems Elect New Officers

CLEARFIELD – In December, the Clearfield County Democratic Committee held a new election of officers, and the group will be opening an office in downtown Clearfield this week.

Sandra E. Lance, precinct chair of Boggs Township, will serve as the committee chairperson.  Dennis Biancuzzo, precinct chair of Fourth Ward Clearfield Borough, will serve as vice-chair.

Olivia Cutler, resident of Clearfield Borough, will operate as treasurer and Christy Fulton, precinct chair of First Ward Clearfield Borough, will perform duties of secretary.

The Clearfield County Democratic Committee holds monthly meetings and interested members of the public are welcomed to join.

In a news release, a committee spokesperson said: “members of the local committee understand that the voters in this rural area are unique.  Committee leaders understand that the values people hold dear are not defined by one political party or the other.

“There are many Democrats throughout Clearfield County who value the Second Amendment, are Pro-life and Christian.   The committee leaders hold diversity in high regard, and they honor the values of the voters.

“In a time when discord and discourse seem routine, the Clearfield Democrats want to encourage compassion towards our neighbors with differing views.”

Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 7 p.m.  The meetings rotate between the new location in Clearfield on the even-numbered months; on the odd-numbered months, meetings are held at the Lion’s Den at the Penn State DuBois campus.

The next meeting is Feb. 10 at 108 N. Second St., Suite 2, Clearfield.  Precinct chairs and citizens wanting to serve on subcommittees are encouraged to attend.
