State police at Clearfield
- State police reported a DUI crash occurred Monday on Pardee Road in Morris Township. According to state police, a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Philipsburg man struck several mailboxes, a fence and a parked truck. Upon investigation, it was found he was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance, and he was transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending at this time.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report of a domestic assault that occurred Tuesday on White Church Road. During the incident, a 35-year-old Glen Richey man allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face with a closed fist, causing minor injuries. He then pushed and pinned her to the ground, at which point she hit her head, police said. She managed to get away and to lock herself in the bathroom until police arrival on-scene. The man was housed in county jail on a probation violation, and police expect to file charges of simple assault and harassment.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a phone scam that contained inappropriate language.
- Police received a report about two individuals who were loitering around a church.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual. According to police, contact was made and the individual was found to be OK. While at the scene, police encountered a wanted female who was arrested and housed in county jail.
- Police received a report about a missing package that is believed to have been stolen. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Lawrence Township police encountered a male who had warrants through the Clearfield Police Department. Officers arrived and the male satisfied his warrants.
- Police were notified about an individual who had requested to speak with Crisis personnel but were unable to due to cellphone problems. Police assisted them with obtaining help.
Sandy Township
- Police responded to a report of a stuck vehicle on Jan. 24. According to police, a 35-year-old Houtzdale man attempted to make a left turn, as he pulled out of the Falls Creek Sheetz, causing his vehicle to become stuck in the median. No injuries occurred as a result, and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
- On Jan. 24, police reported that a 57-year-old DuBois Mall employee accidentally locked himself in a closet inside a former store. Upon arrival, officers were able to free him without issue.
- On Jan. 25, police were dispatched to the Sandy Township Park following a report of two four-wheelers being driven around the area. The investigation is pending review of surveillance footage.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute Jan. 25 on Maple Avenue. Upon arrival, police found it was verbal in nature, and the incident was handled on-scene.
- On Jan. 25, police received a report from a 21-year-old Falls Creek woman who alleged that she’d received harassing and threatening messages from an unknown man through Facebook.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle theft Jan. 25. According to police, a 41-year-old DuBois woman said her vehicle was towed to a Treasure Lake residence because it had broken down at the Bobette. She believed it’d been stolen from the residence, and stated that it was last driven by a 34-year-old male friend. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police received a report about a vehicle-versus-deer crash on South Main Street on Jan. 26. Police say no injuries occurred as a result, and the vehicle was driven from the scene.
- Police received a report about truck lights flashing at the W&W Equipment parking lot. Police said the lights stopped flashing shortly after their arrival on-scene, and there wasn’t any evidence that a crime had occurred.
- On Jan. 26, police reported that an 84-year-old South Brady Street man was found along the roadway near his home. He was subsequently transported to Penn Highlands Hospital for treatment.
- On Jan. 26, police were contacted by a 41-year-old St. Marys man who reported that while visiting a friend on Pacific Avenue, his cellphone was stolen.
