Elk County Catholic Roundballers Swamp Undermanned Golden Tide 64-4

ST. MARYS – Unbeaten Elk County Catholic (ECC) remained that way Tuesday night after swamping an outmanned Curwensville squad in boys basketball, 64-4, in St. Marys.

To be perfectly fair to the Golden Tide boys, sophomore leading scorer Ty Terry (15+ points per game), was held out of the contest while still nursing an injury.

Then again, the Crusaders showed no mercy, as they limited the Curwensville offense to just one free throw in each of the four periods.

On the night the Tide did not register a field goal.

High scorer for ECC was Mark Kraus with 14 points followed by 10 tallies from teammate Regis Wortman.

Elk County Catholic hit eight three-pointers on the evening.

The Crusaders are now a perfect 13-0 on the 2019-20 campaign.

The junior varsity game was also won by Elk County Catholic, knocking off the Golden Tide by a score of 54-12.

Next up for Curwensville (1-8) is another road trip on Wednesday to play the Glendale Vikings in Moshannon Valley League play. The JV game starts at 6 pm with the varsity to immediately follow.
