Lady Tide Win Second Straight, Dump Lady Mounties 47-24

CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Lady Tide basketball team won its second straight game on Monday night, at home, against visiting Philipsburg-Osceola by a score of 47-24.

The Lady Tide are now 2-1 on the season.

Curwensville was defensive minded in the first quarter by out scoring the Lady Mounties 8-2 before things evened out in the second eight minutes.

The Lady Mounties had its best offensive quarter over the second frame by scoring nine points, but the Lady Tide added 11 to its side of the scoreboard at Patton Hall to take an 18-10 lead into intermission.

Curwensville continued its dominance over the final 16 minutes of action, once again out scoring Philipsburg-Osceola in the third quarter 12-8 and then had a huge advantage in the fourth 17-5 to pick up the victory.

The Lady Tide had two girls in double figures, led by senior Hannah Condon with 15, while Tarah Jacobson, also a senior, pumped in 10 tallies.

Kyleigh Kennedy and Lindsey Bordas each had 11 points for the Lady Mounties.

There was no junior varsity game.

The Lady Tide have another home game on Wednesday, hosting Ridgway. JV action starts at 6 pm with the varsity to immediately follow.
