CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield American Legion Post 6 baseball team received a forfeit from Curwensville Friday evening to advance to the elimination bracket final of the Jefferson County League Championship Playoffs.
The second-seeded Chiefs (11-5-1) will play DuBois, which lost 4-2 to Punxsutawney Thursday night, at the Lawrence Township Recreation Park Field Saturday at 5 p.m.
The winner will go to Punxsutawney for a 5 p.m. game Sunday and must defeat the regular season titlist and No. 1 seed twice to claim the championship.
