KANE – It took a road trip to Kane, but the Lady Tide of Curwensville softball team snapped its four game losing streak on Tuesday afternoon, coming home with an 11-8 win.
The Lady Tided blanked the Lady Wolves 15-0 the first time around in mid-April.
Curwensville jumped out to a 6-0 lead after one and a half innings by scoring three runs in each of the first two innings at the plate.
Kane tied the game in the bottom of the second by putting up a six on the scoreboard and actually went in front of the Lady Tide 7-6 with a run in the bottom of the third frame.
In the top of the fifth inning the Lady Tide tacked on four tallies to go out in front for good at 10-7 and on its way to snap the losing streak.
Winning freshman pitcher Joslynne Freyer had four hits for Curwensville with one being a double and knocked in three runs.
Logan Sheeder (one double), Abby Pentz (two doubles), Lauren Tozer (one double) and Mackenzie Wall (one double) each had two hits for the Tide.
Tozer also had three RBI’s on the day.
Emma Ely, Ella Marconi (one double) and Kennedy Himes had two hits each for the Lady Wolves while
H. Slater smacked a triple.
Next for Curwensville, now 12-5 on the season, is a home date on Thursday at 4:15 pm against West Branch.
