CLEARFIELD – Lisa Kovalick of Girard Township announces her plans to run as a Democratic candidate for Clearfield County Commissioner in the May primary.
Kovalick says, “Remarkably, Clearfield County is 1,154 square miles of natural beauty and valuable resources. I am passionate about the prosperity, and splendor we have to offer.
“As your commissioner, it is my motive to preserve the charm encountered across each mile of our county, while accessing its many significant resources for continued growth and future success.
“My main objectives include: serving every resident with integrity and candor, promoting economic opportunity and addressing all aspects of the growing opioid epidemic.
“I find great fulfillment in the idea of providing a healthy, safe and thriving county for you and your family.”
Throughout her years committed to working hard, Kovalick has gained experience and knowledge by serving others.
Her career began at the (former) Clearfield Hardware Co., where she held a sales position selling firearms, and she later moved to a computer operator position.
In 1986, she began working for Central Pennsylvania Community Action Inc. During her 22 years of employment, she worked hands-on advising individuals and families seeking self-sufficiency.
Throughout her years with CPCA, she received a promotion to manage the planning department where she excelled, until she accepted her position with the Clearfield County Planning and Community Development Office in 2008.
Using practical and realistic ideas, Kovalick excels at her career. She is able to work well with a team and also as a team leader; many of her projects are successfully completed alongside municipal leaders and their staff.
She is a diligent employee, and finds delight and achievement in her career, but has always recognized that she can do more for Clearfield County and the people.
Kovalick understands the commitment it takes to be a successful leader. She has dedicated and continues to dedicate much of her time to the growth of Clearfield County.
In 2012, she was appointed to the Commonwealth’s Community Development and Housing Advisory Board.
She is currently serving on the board of directors for the Clearfield County Housing Authority and the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, and is the president of the Clearfield Revitalization Corp.
A life-long resident of Clearfield County, she grew up in Clearfield Borough and graduated from the Clearfield Area High School in 1981.
Kovalick is inspired by her core family values. Together she and her husband, Kenneth Kovalick Jr. have shared 35 years of marriage, have three adult daughters and two beautiful grandsons.
