State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Jan. 17 at Sheetz in Decatur Township. During the incident, a known female allegedly attempted to make a purchase with a counterfeit $20 bill. However, the cashier was able to identify it as such and gave it back; then, the female fled the scene.
- State police received a report about a burglary that occurred Jan. 28 on Green Road in Knox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly broke a glass window to enter the victim’s garage, then they looked around once inside. Damage is estimated at $200, and state police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-857-3800.
State police at Ridgway
- State police investigated a house fire that occurred at 1:02 p.m. Thursday at 1732 Main St., in Coalport. According to state police, there wasn’t anyone at home at the time, and the fire was “accidental in nature.” Four family pets perished in the fire. Damage was estimated at $100,000, and the family was uninsured.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted a motorist who had locked their keys inside their vehicle along Merrill Street.
- Police responded to a minor collision in the area of North Second and East Cherry streets. According to police, a vehicle was stopped at a red light, when it was struck by another vehicle after its driver failed to stop. No injuries were reported to police and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police collected a syringe that was located along Dorey Street.
- Police received a report about a couple engaged in a dispute at an apartment along Reed Street. As a result, police say one female was arrested on an active warrant and a male was found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges are currently pending at this time.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a lost or stolen license plate Feb. 1 in Lawrence Township. According to police, a Tennessee vehicle registration plate, owed by Ryder Truck Rental, was lost or stolen. Anyone with information is urged to contact township police.
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct that occurred Jan. 29 at the Clearfield Junior-Senior High School. According to police, a 14-year-old female juvenile was yelling and being uncooperative with staff. Charges were filed against her as a result.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle Friday at Davita Dialysis. According to police, a witness saw the vehicle parked along the side of the business, which was closed. The driver fled at a high rate of speed once he was seen but was stopped a short distance away. Police say the vehicle’s ignition interlock system had been tampered with, and there was a number of items of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Charges will be filed against a 36-year-old Clearfield man as a result of the incident.
