Campus Corner: Ogden Stays Unbeaten in Dual Meets

WILLIAMSPORT — Once-beaten junior 197-pounder Travis Ogden (Clearfield) remained undefeated in dual meets and sophomore 141-pounder Josiah McClarren (Clearfield) also won two matches as Lycoming swept four opponents in the Lycoming Duals on the Lamade Gym mats Dec. 17.

The Warriors defeated Muhlenberg 34-11, Pitt-Bradford 46-6, King’s 59-0 and Pennsylvania College of Technology 50-0 to push coach Roger Crebs’ record past the 400-win milestone.

Ogden won by injury default over Muhlenberg’s Gennaro Cerminara at 6:15 and decisioned Pitt-Bradford’s Mitch Dowd 5-1 and Penn College’s Jared Mooney 9-3.

He received a forfeit against King’s and sports a 7-0 record for dual matches. He is 11-1 overall.

McClarren won by forfeit against Pitt-Bradford and decisioned Penn College’s Christopher Bashaw 7-2 in his first two dual meet bouts, padding his record to 6-2.

Lycoming is off to an 8-2 start.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sophomore 184-pounder Shae Bloom (Curwensville) was one of Clarion’s two winners in a 26-6 loss to Buffalo Saturday night.

Back at his normal weight of 184 after competing at 197 most of the season, Bloom defeated Logan Rill 9-4.

The previous night in a 39-3 home loss to No. 24-ranked Pitt in the Warwick-Boyd Auditorium, Bloom was shut out by former Penn State recruit Kellan Stout, 5-0.

Bloom is 2-1 in dual meets and 11-3 overall.

The Golden Eagles will take a 2-4 record into the new year.
