WESTOVER — Madi Weber scored 11 of her game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter as the Curwensville Area High School girls basketball team roared from behind to defeat Harmony 47-40 in Moshannon Valley League action Thursday night.
The Lady Tide were down 33-29 at the three-quarter mark before exploding for 18 points in the final eight minutes with Weber netting five field goals, one a three-pointer, and getting support from Briana Swindell with five points and Tarah Jacobson with two.
At the same time, the Lady Tide (1-2, 1-2 MVL) limited the Lady Owls (0-3, 0-2 MVL) to seven points.
Harmony, which got 12 points from Macy Fry and 10 from Traci Hauser, had used a 12-8 second quarter to take a 22-18 lead into intermission and maintained that advantage with 11 points in the third period.
Swindell and Jacobson checked in with seven points apiece for Curwensville.
The Lady Tide return to action Wednesday with a trip to Ridgway for their Allegheny Mountain League South Division opener.
