Penn Highlands DuBois to Host Dr. Gary DuGan Memorial Walk/Fun Run Event

DUBOIS – Penn Highlands DuBois is hosting a “Healthy Living” Walk/Fun Run event with a timed 5K on Saturday, Oct. 27, in honor of the late Dr. Gary DuGan, who was chief medical officer of Penn Highlands Healthcare.

The event will be held at Beaver Meadow Walkway in DuBois. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Edward V. Cherry Amphitheater. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. and the walk will start at 9:05 a.m.

The 5K will be officially timed by Gingerbread Man Running Company. Those who wish to participate in the 5K must register online at https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/DuBois/DrGaryDuGanMemorial5k.

Medals will be awarded to the top three place winners – both male and female runners – in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-18, 19-29, 30-45, 45-60 and 60 and over.

A limited number of T-shirts will be available on a first come, first served basis to 5K participants who register early.

Registration is free, but donations will be accepted at the event or online at www.phhealthcare.org/donate/donate-to-penn-highlands-dubois by choosing “Dr. DuGan Memorial Fund” under the designation tab on the donation page.

All proceeds will benefit the Graduate Medical Education Program at PH DuBois. Dr. DuGan was instrumental in the establishment of this program.
