HYDE — The Clearfield Bison boys track team bested Tyrone 87-63 in what essentially was a dual meet to determine the 2018 Mountain League track championship. The league loss was Tyrone’s first, while the Bison ended their league season a perfect 7-0.
The Bison’s perfect season overall, however, was dashed by Brookville by an 82-68 final.
The Lady Bison also beat Tyrone, by a score of 83-66, and were beaten on the tie-breaker 75-74 by Brookville. The Lady Bison finish their dual season at 5-3.
In winning the triple jump, Bison junior Taye Lynch broke the school record for the third time this season with a leap of 44′ 5″.
The Bison now are off until the District 9 Track and Field Championships at Brookville on May 18.
