Glendale Blasts Lady Tide 13-3 In Moshannon Valley League Play

CURWENSVILLE – The Glendale Lady Vikings took care of business Monday afternoon in Curwensville, downing the Lady Tide 13-3 in Moshannon Valley League action.

Glendale had its way from the start, jumping out to a 7-0 lead after just two innings, scoring four in the first and three in the second inning.

The big blow early on was a three run first inning home run by Alexis Mulhollen, who also picked up the win from the circle, throwing four no hit innings to start the game.

Curwensville tallied its only runs in the bottom of the fifth inning thanks in part to singles from Bailey Bloom and Abby Pentz. Those two being the only hits for the Tide on the day.

Glendale finished strong, just like it started, scoring three each in the sixth and seventh innings.

Shortstop Alaney Vereshack of Glendale had a three run homer in the top half of the seventh.

Although the Vikings smacked out 13 hits the Lady Tide helped out by committing five errors.

Mulhollen paced the Glendale offense with three hits, while Kristin Hewitt, Alaney Vereshack and Madison Lukehart each had two.

Alaney Vereshack picked up five RBI’s with Mulhollen adding three of her own.

Curwensville, now at 6-5, journeys to St. Mary’s on Tuesday to play Elk County Catholic at 4:15 pm. The Lady Crusaders topped the Lady Tide earlier this season,  on April 21, 9-7, in Curwensville.
