MILESBURG — Aspen Bishop slugged a home run for the fourth game in a row and Makayla Ross also homered, but the visiting Clearfield Area High School softball team had only two other hits and was dealt a 14-4 loss by Bald Eagle Area at the Milesburg Little League Field Saturday afternoon.
The back-to-back long balls by Bishop, her sixth of the season, and Ross tied the score at 3-3 in the top of the fourth inning of the Mountain League make-up game.
A triple by Brooke Cline and a single by Bishop for her third RBI produced the Lady Bison’s final run in the sixth frame.
Winning pitcher Maddison Peters struck out eight and walked none.
The Lady Eagles broke the tie in the bottom of the fourth by turning three Lady Bison misplays into four runs, including one on Peters’ single and two on the second of three doubles by Tobi Yarrison.
BEA pulled away with three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth on three hits and three walks that made it a Mercy Rule finish.
Yarrison enjoyed a career day with four hits and four RBIs.
Megan King had three hits and three RBIs.
Abby Fedder was the starting and losing pitcher, but only two of the 10 runs off her were earned. She gave up nine hits and four walks while striking out two.
The Lady Bison, now 3-6 in the league and 4-7 overall, go to Bradford Monday for a non-league game.
