Curwensville Area High School junior Madi Weber was named to the 2017-18 Allegheny Mountain League All-Star Team in voting by the head coaches.
The 5-11 guard led the Lady Tide in scoring every game, accounting for 51.6 percent of their points with 383.
Weber’s total was 12th in District 9, with most of the players finishing higher having the benefit of playoff games. Her 17.4 average ranked fourth.
She was in double figures in all but two games for the 4-18 Lady Tide, scoring at least 15 points a dozen times and at least 27 in four of the last seven games, including a career-high 35 in a 66-31 win over Sheffield Feb. 9.
Weber also topped the Lady Tide in rebounds, assists and steals.
For the second year in a row, Emily Fullem of Ridgway received the most votes. The 6-0 senior‘s 469 points were seventh in the district, and her 20.4 average was fourth.
Kane’s Trinity Clark, a 5-11 senior, was honored for the fourth year in a row.
Three others earned all-star recognition for the third time, 6-2 senior Ella Marconi of Kane, 5-7 senior Leah Lindemuth of Brockway and 5-7 junior Cassidy King of Johnsonburg.
Rachel Morgan, a 5-11 senior, is the third member of the league champion Kane team to be selected.
The other AML All-Stars are 5-4 senior Kaitlyn Morelli of Brockway, 5-4 junior Ashley Wruble of DuBois Central Catholic, 5-10 sophomore Taylor Newton of Elk County Catholic and 5-3 junior Rylee Casilio of Johnsonburg.
