TYRONE — Clearfield Area High School senior Reese Wilson was named to the first unit of the 2017-18 All-Mountain League Boys Basketball Team announced at the annual winter sports banquet in the Tyrone Area High School Monday night.
The 6-3 guard led the 15-10 Bison in scoring with 299 points, a 12.0 average.
He hit double figures 16 times, reaching 20 in five games with a career-high 22 in a 64-46 win over Bald Eagle Area on Feb. 2.
Wilson was the Bison’s No. 2 rebounder with 147 and also was credited with 26 assists and 15 steals.
Joey Smith of Central was selected as the Most Valuable Player in voting by the head coaches.
Joining Wilson on the first team are senior Jonathan Price and junior Nick Rigby of the champion Huntingdon team, seniors Dylan Thomas and Parker Mitchell of runner-up Tyrone and sophomore Logan Snyder of Penns Valley.
Price, Rigby and Thomas are repeaters. Price also was accorded honorable mention as a sophomore.
The second team all-stars are senior Jayton Smith of Huntingdon, senior Jake Meredith of Tyrone, senior Jordan Jones and sophomore Jaden Jones of Bald Eagle Area and junior Caleb Rockey of Bellefonte.
Jordan Jones and Rockey were on the second team last season, too, while Meredith received honorable mention twice while an underclassman.
Central senior Preston Karstetter was the lone player receiving honorable mention.
