D-9 Playoff Games Set for Clearfield, Curwensville Teams

BROCKWAY — The Clearfield boys will play Wednesday night while the Clearfield girls and the Curwensville boys will go on the road for a double-header Thursday night in PIAA District 9 Tournament games, according to a release by the District 9 Basketball Committee over the weekend.

The defending champion and No. 2-seeeded Bison (13-9) will host St. Marys in a Class AAAA semifinal at 7 p.m.

Bradford is the No. 1 seed and will be at home against Punxsutawney the same night.

The No. 3-seeded Lady Bison (8-14) will travel to St. Marys for the lone Class AAAA girls semifinal at 7:30 p.m., with the winner to meet top-seeded Punxsutawney.

In one of three Class AA boys quarterfinals, the No. 7-seeded Golden Tide (11-11) play No. 2 Coudersport in a 6 p.m. tip-off at the St. Marys Area High School.

Other pairings No. 3 Keystone against No. 6 Brockway and No. 4 Clarion-Limestone against 5 Clarion, also at neutral sites.

Ridgway receives a bye.

The Elkers remained undefeated by defeating Elk County Catholic 48-37 in the Allegheny Mountain League championship game Saturday night.

Dates, times and sites have not been booked for any of the remaining games.
