HYDE – There was plenty of excitement this past weekend, with plenty of upsets, pins, and high energy moments that might have made this the best Bison Duals yet. DuBois went 5-0 on the day, winning their first Bison Duals championship with a 39-30 victory over Montoursville in the finals.
The host Clearfield Bison also looked impressive, going 4-1 on the day. They lost their third pool play match to Freedom 37-35, making them wrestle for fifth place, where they defeated Union City in the semi-finals and James M Coughlin in the finals.
Bison wrestlers going undefeated on the day were Matt Ryan, Caleb Freeland, Hunter Wright, and Luke McGonigal. Wright was very impressive, pinning all five of his opponents. McGonigal received two forfeits, but then pinned two of his three opponents. Ryan returned to the basics and wrestled very efficiently throughout the day, while Freeland picked up three major decisions.

With this weekends success, the Bison are now 8-5 on the season, solidly in the drivers seat of finishing with a winning record. The Bison will return to action on Tuesday in the Art Weiss gymnasium at 7pm, where they will meet Tyrone.
