TYRONE – The Clearfield Lady Bison basketball team had a make-up game on Saturday at Tyrone with the Lady Golden Eagles picking up a Mountain League win, 60-37.
Originally the game was to be played at Tyrone on Friday, January 5, but was postponed due to inclement weather conditions.
The loss leaves the Lady Bison with an overall record of 5-10 on the season and 3-5 in the Mountain League.
Clearfield hung with Tyrone over the first eight minutes, trailing 19-11 after one.
However, the middle two quarters of offense doomed the Lady Bison, scoring just two points in the second and six in the third.
And after the first three quarters Tyrone had the contest well in hand at 50-19.
Freshman Megan Durandetta led Clearfield with 13 points, which included three from beyond the arc.
Speaking of three-pointers, Tyrone‘s Sydney Shaw connected on six of them and had a game high 23 tallies to pace the Lady Golden Eagles.
Emily Lehman added 11, with Payton Wagner chipping in with 10 for Tyrone.
The Bison did win the fourth quarter though, 18-10.
Tyrone also won the junior varsity game 48-13. Kylie VanTassel had seven points for Clearfield.
The Lady Bison will play again on Tuesday with a trip to Huntingdon. In the first meeting in
mid-December, at Clearfield, the Lady Bearcats defeated Clearfield 54-32 in Mountain League action.
Junior varsity action starts at 6 pm with the varsity game to immediately follow.
