Lady Vikings Defeat Lady Tide With Big Fourth Quarter

FLINTON — The Curwensville Area High School girls basketball team played with the lead for much of the first three quarters, but Glendale erupted for 21 points in the final eight minutes for its first win of the season, 52-39, Wednesday night.

Madi Weber and Tara Jacobson accounted for the bulk of the Lady Tide offense in the Moshannon Valley League game with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Jacobson had eight and Weber seven in the third period when the Lady Tide put up 17 points to turn a 16-15 halftime deficit into a 32-31 lead before the Lady Vikings took charge.

Olivia Reese scored 10 of her game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter to spark Glendale (1-9, 1-2 MVL).

Makenzie Lukehart tallied 14, including nine that kept the Lady Vikings close through the third period.
