SPRING MILLS – The Clearfield Bison baseball team picked up four runs over the last two innings on Monday to beat Penns Valley, 6-2, in Mountain League action in Springs Mills.
Earlier this season, in mid-April, the Bison knocked off Penns Valley 6-3 in a home game.
The win puts Clearfield at an even 6-6 in the Mountain League standings.
Senior Tommy Hazel went four innings on the mound with fellow senior, Will Myers, coming in for the last three frames to pick up the win.
Thayne Morgan had a big day at the plate for the Bison as the second baseman smacked out three hits and stole two bases.
First baseman Seth Bumbarger had two singles, while Eli Glass cracked a second inning double for Clearfield.
The win is the third straight for the Bison.
For Penns Valley, Jared Kinis had three hits while Keith Butts added two singles.
Clearfield, now 9-6 overall, is at Curwensville Tuesday, with the first pitch set for 4:15 pm. On April 11 the Bison defeated the Golden Tide 10-2 at the Bison Sports Complex.
