KANE — The Curwensville Area High School girls basketball team was unable to cope with Kane’s size and wound up on the short end of a 57-26 final in an Allegheny Mountain League crossover game Monday night.
The 3-1 Lady Wolves made it a long night after a long trip for the Lady Tide as sophomore Ella Marconi, one of three starters who are 5-10 or taller, poured in 24 points while the other two, Trinity Clark and Rachel Morgan, added 10 apiece. Hannah Buhl also recorded 10 points.
Madison Weber accounted for half of the Lady Tide’s points, including a pair of three-pointers.
Curwensville (2-2) never reached double figures in any quarter and trailed 27-14 at the half.
The Lady Tide will make the short trip to the Clearfield Area High School on Wednesday December 28 for the annual holiday non-leaguer with the Lady Bison.
Curwensville’s junior varsity lost 35-14.
