A car bomb in Mogadishu killed a Somali general and four of his guards Sunday, according to Gen. Yusuf Mohamed.
Gen. Mohamed Roble Jimale was commander of the Somali Army’s 3rd division and was a leading figure in the fight against the Islamist militant group Al-Shabaab.
Jimale was wounded in the attack and died later in a hospital, Mohamed said.
