Three people have been confirmed killed, and at least 40 others injured, after two bombs went off in eastern Turkey on Wednesday.
First, car bomb exploded outside a police station in the eastern Turkish city of Van, according to Turkish state news agency Anadolu.
Speaking after the attack, Van’s deputy governor, Mehmet Parlak, said 38 of those injured were civilians while two were police officers.
Anadolu said Kurdish militants were suspected of carrying out the attack.
Less than 24 hours later, a second explosion took place near police headquarters in Elazig, according to a Turkish official. Anadolu reported ambulances heading towards the blast site.
No casualties have been reported from that incident yet. It is the fifth explosion in the past two weeks to target police offices in southeastern and eastern Turkey.
No one has claimed responsibility for the blasts.
Clashes between the Kurdistan worker’s party, or PKK, and Turksih forces have been ongoing since a peace process crumbled in 2015.
The PKK were responsible for another bomb attack in Ankara in February 2016, which targeted off-duty police officers.
