Prince bought the ‘Purple Rain’ house

An unassuming three bedroom house on Snelling Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota had a special place in Prince’s heart.

So much so, the superstar secretly purchased it eight months before he died.

According to the Star Tribune, Prince paid $117,000 for the house featured in his movie “Purple Rain.”

“I don’t think he had a plan,” the selling agent, Deborah Larsen, told the paper. “I think he just wanted it.”

The home was used for the exterior shots of the house where Prince’s character lived.

The house apparently came to the pop star’s attention when news of it being for sale hit the internet. Prince’s NPG Music Publishing paid cash for the vacant property.

It is now part of Prince’s estate. The music icon died in April at the age of 57 from an accidental overdose of the opioid fentanyl.
