Leslie Jones returns to Twitter

Leslie Jones has made her big return to Twitter — and we can all thank “Game of Thrones.”

The “Ghostbusters” actress tweeted Thursday following a much-publicized exit from the platform earlier this week. Jones left Twitter after being targeted by racist tweets.

The comedian, a huge fan of the HBO hit fantasy series, showed her good humor in her comeback tweet writing, “Welp…a bitch thought she could stay away. But who else is gonna live tweet Game of Thrones!!”

Jones spent 12 hours on Monday calling out her online harassers. The move caused her supporters to raise their voices in defense, with many using #LoveForLeslieJ.

The trolling Jones faced prompted Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to reach out to the actress before she said “goodbye” to the platform late Monday night.

Twitter has not said if Jones and Dorsey spoke, but the company did take action. On Wednesday, Twitter permanently banned conservative blogger Milo Yiannopoulos, who is thought to be an instigator of the hate-filled onslaught Jones received.

In her second tweet Thursday, Jones thanked her supporters for making her feel special.

Jones returned to Twitter a few hours before a scheduled appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” The last time she appeared on the program, Jones and Meyers watched an episode of “Game of Thrones” together with hilarious results.
