PENFIELD – Clearfield Area United Way recently held a site visit at Camp Confidence, a United Way member agency.
Camp Confidence is a summer camp for challenged youth from the area, and it’s held annually at Camp Mountain Run near Penfield.
CAUW President Debbie Bowser is shown presenting a donation to Camp Director Grace Marshall for craft and sport supplies needed for the summer camp.
Local high school students who may be interested in becoming a volunteer camp counselor for next summer are asked to contact the United Way at 814-765-6521.
“We can put them in touch with Mrs. Marshall and staff. So many teen counselors have gone on to work in the fields of education, speech therapy and a myriad of other careers. It is a great program, not only for the campers, but also for the volunteers as well,” explained Nancy Pinto of the United Way.
