Hillary Clinton will continue her blistering attack on Donald Trump’s response to the Orlando terrorist attack, releasing a new video Wednesday afternoon slamming the Republican presidential candidate.
The video, to be shared via social media, shows excerpts of Clinton’s speech at a campaign rally in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. In that speech, Clinton called Trump’s rhetoric “shameful” and slammed her rival for calling for a ban on Muslims entering the country.
“He wants to ban all Muslims from entering our country, and now he wants to go even further,” Clinton says in the video. “Just one day after the massacre, he went on TV and suggested that President Obama is on the side of the terrorists.”
The video also takes aim at Trump’s past statements about Obama, calling Trump a “leader of the birther movement,” and criticizes Trump’s recent comments about a federal judge’s Mexican heritage.
“This is a man who claimed a distinguished federal judge, born and raised in Indiana, can’t do his job because of his ‘Mexican heritage,'” Clinton is shown saying in the video.
CNN has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
The video sends a clear signal that the Clinton campaign plans to continue contrasting Clinton and Trump on the issue of national security, and questioning Trump’s temperament.
In the aftermath of the the Orlando terrorist attack that killed 49 people, Clinton has repeatedly slammed Trump on foreign policy, including his response to Sunday’s massacre. Immediately following the tragedy, Trump renewed his calls for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the country, and proposed suspending immigration from countries with a proven record of terrorism against the United States and its allies.
In Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Clinton called Trump’s rhetoric “shameful” and “disrespectful.”
“It is disrespectful to the people who were killed and wounded, and their families,” Clinton said. “And it is yet more evidence that he is temperamentally unfit and totally unqualified to be commander in chief.”
Trump has fired back, saying at a campaign event in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Tuesday: “If Hillary Clinton becomes president I don’t know that our country will ever, ever come back.”
Clinton is scheduled to hold a national security discussion in Hampton, Virginia, Wednesday afternoon with veterans, military families and member of the defense community. The event will build on the former secretary of state’s speech in Cleveland, on Monday that addressed the Orlando mass shooting, according to the campaign.
