CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Farm Bureau collected items and money for the central Pennsylvania food pantries in Karthaus, Westover, and Burnside/Mahaffey.

The collection was a part of the Farm Bureau’s Farmers Care Program, where farmers show they care about their communities by collecting donations to help those in need.

CPCA has nearly 20 food pantries in Clearfield and Centre counties.  In 2015, CPCA food pantries served 8,143 individuals facing food insecurities in our community.

CPCA partners with local groups, organizations, and volunteers who operate the local food pantries in Clearfield and Centre counties, and according to CPCA Executive Director, Susan Hawthorne, it’s a community effort.

“CPCA is a part of this community, and we have been here for almost 50 years serving those in need right here,” she said.  “We could not help as many people as we do, were it not for our friends and neighbors who donate their money, supplies, and time to CPCA.  We are so grateful and together we make a big difference right here, in our community.”
