KANE – It took the Curwensville Area High School’s girls softball team just three innings to dismantle the Lady Wolves of Kane Tuesday afternoon, 15-0, in Kane.
The victory for the Lady Tide gives them an overall record of 9-7 on the 2016 season.
Curwensville had defeated the Lady Wolves earlier this season on the Lady Tide’s home turf 10-0.
A nine-run second inning by the Lady Tide left no doubt as to whom was in control of the contest. The nine-run second was sandwiched by three runs in the first inning and three more tallies in the third.
The Lady Tide had eight hits and a big boost with nine walk and three hit batsman on its way to its best offensive output of the year.
Curwensville shortstop Kaylee Harnett had a huge day at the plate with a double, triple and five RBI’s.
Haley McGarry had two hits and three RBI’s, while Teghan Jacobson smacked a double and also drove in three.
Tide third baseman Hanah Dixon stole four bases on the day.
Pitcher Rylee Young only had to work three innings to get the win, striking out seven along the way and giving up just two harmless singles.
The Lady Tide are home on Thursday afternoon at 4:15 pm win they host unbeaten DuBois Central Catholic. The Lady Cardinals shutout Curwensville last Saturday, 10-0, in Dubois.
