West Branch Nips Lady Tide 2-1 in Softball Action

ALLPORT – In a tight, well pitched softball game Monday afternoon the West Branch Lady Warriors nipped the Curwensville Lady Tide 2-1 at Allport.

The game featured Curwensville hurler Rylee Young and Lady Warrior pitcher Lizzy Scott matching pitch for pitch with all runs scored being unearned.

Scott gave up five hits while striking out nine and walking none.

Young suffered a tough loss, striking out a dozen and just surrendering four hits.

Curwensville had three errors that led to the loss and also left six runners stranded on base with the Lady Warriors leaving just three on base.

Lady Tide third baseman Hannah Dixon had two hits and stole three bases on the day.

Shortstop Kaylee Harnett also had two singles for Curwensville in a game were neither squad had an extra base hit.

The Lady Tide, now 8-7 on the 2016 season, have a long road trip on Tuesday, traveling to Kane to play the Lady Wolves at 4 pm.

Curwensville shutout Kane in mid-April, at home, 10-0.
