CLEARFIELD – Central Pennsylvania Community Action has funds available to assist qualified Clearfield County residents who may need help with rent, or may need help to prevent them from becoming homeless.
The Emergency Solution Grant [ESG] provides rapid rehousing for those individuals at risk of becoming homeless.
Residents who may qualify for assistance under the ESG are those who are at risk of losing housing, those who have an eviction notice from the magistrate or those who have a severe housing burden (55 percent to 75 percent rent to gross monthly income ratio).
The income guidelines for the ESG program are that consumers must be at or below 30 percent of the Area Median Income [AMI]. In addition, the apartment/house rent plus cost of utilities must be under the Fair Market Rent [FMR] for Clearfield County.
The Rental Assistance Program, or RAP, can assist families and individuals with rental or mortgage payments, arrearages, security deposits and occasional utility assistance, to avoid eviction or foreclosure and maintain housing.
Any Clearfield County resident facing needs the ESG or RAP may help, should contact Robin Holt at Central PA Community Action, at 814-765-1551 extension 1111 or by e-mail at RHolt@CPCAA.net.
There are qualification rules and regulations, but CPCA can help determine if an applicant qualifies for one of these programs, or even additional assistance offered by the agency.
These funds are available for a limited time. If you need help, please contact CPCA today.
