At least seven people died and 27 others were injured during an explosion in a bus carrying local government employees in northwestern Pakistan, authorities said.
The Wednesday morning blast occurred in Peshawar’s highly-fortified army camp, said Mohammad Kashif, a senior police official.
The explosive material was planted inside the bus, according to Mushtaq Ghani, spokesman for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one of various provinces in the region.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack in a statement.
